My life so far....
I was born before men walked on the moon, while driving cars was not harmful to the atmosphere and doctors smoked cigarettes and told people it was good for their health; when photographs were black and white...
We lived in Germany, then Toronto, then Athens, Greece; then Geneva, Switzerland, then back to Canada (Ottawa), then back to Switzerland; then Canada; then Vietnam and travelled a lot in S.E. Asia, then London, England -- and then I jumped ship, and set off on my own...
And so.... I thought I would become an artist, but soon discovered that fate would create a segue for me that I would have to follow for a few years, before I could realize my artistic goals....
While an art student, I moved into a place where a group of guys were building a boat in the back yard and because of my interest in sailing, I soon found myself involved in the project as well as becoming a living partner to one of the builders. The project was to take 12 years to complete. Near the end, we were forced to moved out of our house, and so carried the boat in pieces from the back yard to a truck and then transported it down to the Thames to complete its construction. More than 100 people helped to carry the boat to the truck...
and then suddenly it was over. A year after we had launched the boat and sailed her across the English Channel and on down to the Mediterraean along the coast of France, then moored her off the coast of Majorca to over-winter - word reached us that a tremendous storm had pounded the beautiful boat onto the Rocks of the island. Ironic, since the boat had been named “Stormbird”. The partnership broke up. We went our separate ways. I deceided to return to art school...
...and sailed on to other challenges
I am now based in Ottawa, Canada.
